In a rapidly changing world, things are returning back to usual…or are they? PWC has announced a completely flexible schedule where you are able to start when you like and finish when you like but is it possible for a structure or business to operate efficiently in this manner? The pandemic has opened our eyes to new ways of working and something like working from home may be here to stay for the long haul. The fight against racism is another longstanding thing which continues and as the trial of George Floyd rages on the team wonder what a satisfactory conclusion would look like. The conversation it has sparked has emanated worldwide and the UK has been no exception, with its recent Royal controversy and the backlash towards the findings in the release of the Race Report there is clearly still a lot of work to be done. From real life to social media, discrimination and racism is still rampant and Thierry Henry has chosen to boycott all platforms until more work is done. A wonderful gesture that would surely be effective if backed by a lot of influential figures. How about a safe haven in social media specifically for kids? Well this is what has been proposed by Instagram and Facebook to protect children from predators, but will it actually be effective? Or is it subject to the same problems social media generates. Someone who has been criticised for the negative impact they have on children has been Lil Nas X whose Satan worshiping blasphemy video and customised trainers caused shockwaves around the world. There has been widespread condemnation but how should Christians react in such situations? Christianity is often seen as a passive religion because it is often ridiculed without punishment but ultimately a Christian should lead with love. This is even more poignant as we reflect on Easter and the ultimate act of love it symbolises but has its significance been lost? Especially as the world becomes less and less religious, does the world associate it more with Easter eggs?
