Is it a stretch to expect people to not judge you based on your appearance? 

Discrimination is second nature to people and even well-intentioned people can have subconscious biases that affect their behaviour. Why is it then when these behaviours are called out that people can become so defensive? Do we have a problem with accountability? Does tone matter or is any challenge deemed as an attack? It is well established that how you look influences how others look at you but what about social media followings? Does a large following automatically draw attention and respect? Are people dismissive of those who do not. 

Clout is the new currency and whether we like to admit it, or not certain benefits come with it however success does not look the same for everyone. Some success is undeniable like with Messi who attracts the accolades he deserves. He has been front, and centre of the sporting world having joined PSG in an unexpected move. Many questions regarding mismanagement of funds, over reliance on players and lack of foresight have been lodged against Barcelona but ultimately it has birthed a new era. 

Similarly, Apple is taking a revolutionary stance against child porn, but a lot of people are now concerned on how far things are going.
