This week I’m talking with two folks from the Real Organic Project, Iriel Edwards and Ariel Pressman

Prior to this episode I really didn’t know much about the ROP and honestly thought it was just another Certification in the sea of certifications.

What I learned was it’s an add-on certificate to farms/businesses that are already Certified Organic and it’s completely free.

The Real Organic Project seems to be focusing more on the cultural side of farming as well keeping a holistic view of the entire farm or business-

In many ways getting back to more of the original spirit of the early Organic movement- Food, Soil, People.

Within our food system, I feel there’s a lot of work to be done, lot’s of refinement, lots of questions without immediate answers.

The Real Organic Project has created a platform to start asking more of these tough questions surrounding our food system, while remaining open for debate. This is what we need more of in our current times.

This was a great conversation with these two and I’m hoping it spawns discussion among your own circles of family, friends, and customers.
