This week my conversation is with Ben Saur of Saur Farming at the base of Mt. Hood here in Oregon.
Ben and I have never met in real life but it feels like we’ve known each other for quite a long time. We’ve been communicating via instagram for 6 or 7 years now and both are avid "likers" of each other’s posts. What a weird concept- "avid likers"…..hahaha
What I really appreciate most about Ben is his awareness of his limits. In this episode you’ll hear about him pushing those limits but at the end of the day he seems to keep those limits in check.
Whether that's how he and his wife run their vegetable farm, how he manages his coffee house, works his team of horses, or even plays a gig with his band. The underlying takeaway theme I see is an inner-balance check to what he wants vs. what he needs. His intentionality is very (as you’ll hear me say several times in the episode) commendable and his insights have given way to me having more questions than answers, so I’ll definitely have him on the podcast again in the future.
