When Paul and Silas were severely beaten, publicly ashamed and thrown in prison, the Bible says in Acts 16:40 that ‘they encouraged and comforted the brothers and sisters and left.’ When we are faced with trials and difficulties of our own, it is time for us to stop looking at ourselves and start adopting the problems of others by encouraging them.
