Description

In this podcast we chat with Christian Owens, Founder of GenderSpace, about transgender awareness and inclusion.

Christian’s own personal, lived experiences as a trans man help audiences to understand, empathise and gain a greater understanding of the journey of transition. Tailored towards the needs of the audience, he provides an insight into what it’s like to be transgender, sharing the highs, lows and even some funny stories. He talks openly and candidly about the social, legal and medical aspects of the journey, educating and raising awareness about the medical care pathway, support that’s required from employers and family members and protection that is provided by certain legislation.

Before starting his public speaking business, GenderSpace, Christian enjoyed a successful 27-year career in the police service and has recently retired from his role as a Detective Sergeant in a busy north west metropolitan police force.
