Rory started his “professional” athletic career in 2014 as a trail runner. While trail running was his primary focus, he has competed in many disciplines over the years, from cycling and paddling to adventure racing and enduro racing. He is no stranger to the outdoors and feels most at home being out there and active.
With his years of experience in racing locally and internationally, Rory started his coaching business, The Scheffer Academy. Aimed at helping athletes at any level achieve their goals, with the view of making training adaptable and fun. Training is supposed to fit into your life, not the other way around.
