Hello everyone, I’m Leann Herron, Owner of Finding Resilience with Leann, and Host of Happiness On Tap podcast.
I want to talk to you about creating a morning routine or habits that will put you on a path to success and achieving your goals.
I'm going to talk about what has worked for me, in the past and in this current season of my life. I have always been a "routine" person, it works for me because routines become habits and having habits and routines in my life have benefited me in the good times and the bad times.
Many of the habits with which we live our lives are efficient ways of behaving, saving us time and energy. Some habits are health promoting and then there are those that are health destroying and have a severe negative impact on our level of wellness.
My morning routine:
1. Make your bed - part of getting a restful sleep is influenced by what you do before you go to bed but also where you sleep,
2. Get in some movement - get your blood pumping,
3. Shower
4. Meditation - through having a daily meditation practice, I have learned how to let go, how to forgive myself, how to give myself permission to heal and for self-maintenance so that I can be my best self.
5. Practice gratitude (meditation, mantras, journaling) start your day with gratitude and see how different you feel.
Habit change can be difficult, you have had the same habits most of your life and fear will keep you from change. You are in control. You are stronger than your fears. Start a new health promoting habit today.
