Jennifer, a/k/a LadyJennD is a collage artist and visual DJ. A DJ (re)mixes sounds to create new music, and she take samplings of imagery and text and combine them, mesh them, and meld them together to create imaginative visual realms. Jennifer takes things that people normally overlook and layer on imagination, depth, and sub-text. These bits and pieces of random media then become her greater message or “song.”
Jennifer discovers imagery and text that captivates her while skimming through books and magazines that have been discarded and forgotten. Cutting elements out is meditative and therapeutic. This is also nostalgic as she has fond memories of putting puzzles together with her family growing up - mostly her grandparents :). She moved to Albuquerque with her husband in November 2016, and currently rents a studio at the Mothership Alumni historic building right off Route 66 downtown.
