Today’s show is with Elizabeth Doherty. Elizabeth is a unique soul who has really harnessed the power of yoga and other modalities to help people feel blissfully comfortable in their bodies. She has been teaching yoga since 2011 and along the way started to incorporate myofascial release into her practice. Myofascial release is a gentle, constant massage that releases pain and tightness throughout the myofascial tissue. What started as a simple way to calm the nervous system down at the end of class, has transformed into its own practice. Through her teachings and time spent on the mat, Elizabeth has become a postural expert.
We chat about how it is vital to give yourself the time and patience to connect with your nervous system as you are trying to heal. Especially in a world that is constantly demanding all of our attention and keeping us away from nature and one other. We get into the connection that breath serves to unite the body and mind. We also discuss all of the different types of breathing patterns that we are capable of and how they are beneficial in separate ways. Elizabeth is hilarious and we had so much fun during recording this!
