In today’s episode, with Jake Nichols, we go deep into how the addiction and mental health treatment models are ever changing. We discuss how stigmas around the abstinence-only-model being the only solution are dissipating and thus opening up more pathways for people to find wellness. We touch on the growth that we have seen from programs that are helping healthcare professionals navigate these struggles while also realizing that this is a slow process. We talk about our personal experiences and how Jake was a major part of my journey back to being well.

Jake Nichols is a pharmacist who has openly shared his struggles and triumphs through his 15-year journey with substance use. He has found his calling as a vocal advocate for stigma reduction and evidence-based addiction treatments. By speaking at conferences and venues across the country and sharing his story, Jake has established himself as a key clinical resource within the field. I am so excited for people to listen to this episode because there are alot of folk out there who are still suffering. This conversation proves there is a way through.
