#17 Marissa Twichell

Description

Today's episode is with Marissa Twichell (and Dotty!). Marissa is an east coast kid who is working as a cannabis professional on the west coast. She started as an entry level brand ambassador and has worked her way to now consulting for national brands. It was enlightening to share perspective on what is happening in our different regions. We talk about how some states are still stymied by stigma and need to continue talking about addiction and mental health and how cannabis legalization can be a positive influence on many statistics such as drunk driving and opiate use. We chat about how some societal structures like alcohol dominating culture are starting to fall and thus opening up new pathways for people to feel better. We talk about the challenges of being a woman in a male dominated industry and how she is actively helping to empower others in the space.

Marissa is a co-founder of Women of Cannabis, an international networking group, aimed to foster relationships among women working in the cannabis Industry. By using her experience she is helping to shape what the industry will look like in the future.
