Today's episode is with Seamus Menihane. Seamus is a former touring musician who has since started a very successful merchandise business called Down Right Merch. He started traveling and doing tours when he was 15 and after high school went on to do this full time with a few different bands. When he decided to come home and settle, he took his skills learned in the field and started his company out of his room. He has since grown it to being able to support 70 employees and works with biggest bands, musicians and labels. His company is centered around helping artists continue their mission of being able to create and play music.
During the show we talk about the amazing joys and benefits of being a new dad and how kids really do change your life. We chat about how he got started and how his passion for music always won out over everything else. He tells me how he is still best friends with his original bandmates. We talk about the steps he has taken to become such a strong leader in his business. And we even got into how AI might influence music in the future but both agreed that we are a long way off from being able to truly emulate the musical experience.
Ultimately it was an amazing show learning from a guy who never said no to his dreams and through hard work, grit and determination is still living them.
