Today’s episode is with Josh Pouliot. Josh is the founder of an intentional community called The Hive. He is a leader, a husband, a father, a drummer, and one of the most authentic human beings that I know. He started this endeavor in the face of turmoil and with no experience but has turned it into a flourishing space that many people cherish and others call home. Currently there are 8 adults and 2 young babies living there. Relying on the ‘if you build it, they will come’ mantra, Josh and his team have cultivated some amazing experiences including hosting amazing authors such as Charles Eisenstein and Marianne Williamson and amazing musicians like Paul Izak and Porangui.
During the episode we talk about Josh’s journey following through with a vision for a better way to live. We talk about the benefits and the challenges of living with other people in community. Josh tells me a little about traditional sweat lodges that they perform on the property and we chat about some of their other offerings including monthly men's circles. He explains how men’s circles are an effective way for men to talk about things that might otherwise not be discussed. We talk about the importance of consent and the difference between sexuality, intimacy and nudity. We talk about being new dads and how it has affected our lives.
There are a lot of people who talk the talk but very few who truly walk with purpose and I am certain Josh is one of those people. I am lucky to know him and I think you will enjoy an episode that shows the possibilities of a different way to live.
