Today’s episode is with Sibil Patri. Aside from being one of the most courageous people I have ever met, Sibil is an award winning financial services executive who achieved the highest certifications and worked at the biggest firms (Blackstone, American Century, Etc.) in the industry. She has been featured in the New York Times and Forbes and spent twenty years of her life mastering the nuances of capital. As a second generation immigrant who climbed the corporate ladder she was the poster child for diversity within an industry dominated by white men. During this journey her eyes were opened to the reality that we exist in - and in 2023, at the pinnacle of her career, she decided to take back her power and move with her true purpose. She has done this by founding In Pursuit Collective, a platform she has created to lift up the underrepresented community, people of color, and other historically excluded and marginalized folks through coaching, collaboration and activism.
During this episode Sibil tells me of how a brown woman was able to infiltrate the conference rooms on Wall Street. We talk about family and how our upbringing affects us and how we all just want to please our parents. We discuss how the systems in corporate America and across the world were not built inclusively. Sibil tells me about her process to decolonize her mind and we get into the tragedy that is happening in Palestine and Israel right now. We agree on the need for humanity and liberation.
This was one of the most impactful conversations I have ever had and I was blown away by Sibils' courage to authentically be herself at any cost. We must always remember that it is okay to have different opinions and perspectives and that respect for each other is paramount in today’s society. Check it out!
