Today's episode is with Sara Curry. Sara is an OG Vermonter with a degree in sustainable agriculture who set out to change the world by any means necessary. After sporting injuries left her in pain she turned to yoga and eventually was called to open her own studio to help others. This was the beginnings of Blaze Yoga and Fitness, which, like its name, has evolved over time. Sara is a founding member of the Original Hot Yoga Association and is active in promoting the practice in our community through different organizations.
During the episode we talk about how she took a chance on something that she was very passionate about and learned to grow a business around. We discuss how her evolution as a science backed yoga teacher helped her to grow her studio into a dynamic space where people come to unwind, heal and thrive. She tells me how after 22 years of owning her studio and previously being indifferent, she has started to offer teacher trainings where she strives to help people become "thinking instructors". We also get into other healing tools that people can use to get themselves out of the muck.
Honestly guys, Sara, her husband Jaylon and their team helped to change my life. She practices what she preaches and gives you practical ways to bring awareness to and heal your own body.
And that's a Giddy up!
