Description

Greetings and a warm welcome to "You Matter," a Spring Hills podcast. In today's episode, we delve into the recent weekend sermon titled "Jesus Humility." Pastor Tevis explores the intricate concepts surrounding the attainment of genuine humility, both for personal growth and for effectively advancing God's kingdom.

The notion of humility may appear straightforward at first glance, but it is a complex and multifaceted concept. Humility exists along a continuum, with potential pitfalls on either extreme. On one side, there's the perilous precipice of excessive pride, which represents an overextension of humility. This can manifest as fake humility, where individuals feign attentiveness but are merely awaiting their turn to speak, showing a lack of genuine respect for others' perspectives.

Conversely, on the opposite end of the spectrum, we find ourselves in the realm of what can be termed as "worthless humility." This occurs when we mistakenly embrace our sinful nature excessively, failing to recognize the presence of Christ within us. Instead, we are encouraged to walk confidently in our faith, acknowledging the Christ dwelling within us.

We trust that you will find this episode enlightening and enriching. Thank you for joining us!
