Hi friends! I am Ann Eileen Thompson. Welcome back to the Faith Driven Leader Podcast. We are on a mission to equip and embolden one another trust in our good Father God even more deeply in our lives and our careers. We love to share the stories of incredible guests who are letting their faith drive their leadership in lives and businesses.

Our guest today is Bart Hansen. Bart is a founding board member, the Director of Discipleship and a vice president on the leadership team and speaking team at Wild at Heart ministries. Some of you may have read or seen John or Stasi Elredge from Wild at Heart Ministries…a ministry that has had a profound impact on my life, my career, my marriage, and my own understanding of my identity as a Child of God. Bart is and has been, since pretty much the beginning, a key member of the team at Wild at Heart.

Before he made a career transition to ministry, Bart was a principal and co-owner of a housing and commercial property developer in southern California for over 25 years. Bart sits on a few other boards as well. And, Bart is madly in love with Tannah, his bride of 44 years. They have one son and two grandchildren.

Many of Bart’s adventures have centered on his love for flying, and building…building all kinds of things—a house, workshop, aircraft hangar, or the airplane in it. But the building that turns his crank the most is building the Kingdom into the hearts of people.

You are in for a treat with this conversation. Bart and I talked about Identity, affirmation, being seen by those we are close to, and so much more.

My challenge:

Consider what you believe your value is. How do you decide whether you’ve had a good day or not? Is it correlated to the amount or quality of work you got done? Do you believe your value is connected to your work? It’s okay if you do. Most of us struggle to really understand that we are valuable just because we. Are. Imagine, if you have kids, or nieces or nephews, whether you would feel they are any less valuable because they took a nap today; or because they played all day long. It wouldn’t change their value. In fact, it might even endear them to your heart a bit. Watching them rest and play. So, if you recognize that you struggle with this whole bucket of where your value comes from - I want to encourage you to play, rest, dream, and ask God to show you the desires of your own heart. And then, receive that He is pleased with you. He values you. And He loves you, just because you are.

Who do you know that would be inspired or equipped by today’s episode? Would you share it with them? It’d be a blessing to them, and to us too!

Thanks again to the wise Bart Hansen for joining us today. We’ll chat with you next time on The Faith Driven Leader!
