In this Episode we will be discussing Second Look Sentencing (SLS). SLS is a hybrid sentencing that allows the offender to petition the sentencing judge or court, after serving a specified number of years, for review of his current sentence for potential reduction through a re-sentencing proceeding. Re-sentencing may be based on the offender's rehabilitation and change while incarcerated. It can also be based on new science, changes within the criminal justice system, a fundamentally unfair and harsh sentence, or an injustice.
