Episode Description:

In this episode of The Daryl Perry Podcast, I’m talking about one of the most difficult but powerful questions you can ask yourself: Who are you really living for? If the answer is anyone other than you, there’s a good chance you’re stuck in a loop of anxiety, burnout, and pain that won’t let up until you shift your focus inward. I share some of my own story, including how I used to operate from a place of proving people wrong, and how I’ve come to see the real value in separating my actions from my self-worth.

This episode is a call to honesty. It’s about checking in with yourself, acknowledging if you’re still trying to meet someone else’s expectations, and understanding that you have the power to change that narrative. Whether you’re doing it for a parent, an ex, or even someone who’s no longer here, you don’t have to carry that weight forever. When you start showing up for you, everything starts to change. I also touch on the role therapy can play in helping you get there and why this type of deep internal work is worth the effort.

If you’ve been on a journey of self-growth, or are just starting to explore what it looks like to truly live life for yourself, this episode is for you.
