Summary
In this episode of Building A Mumpire podcast, Alanna Ball joins the show. Alanna is the founder of Women in Safety and the Safety team, an international speaker, a business owner, and a Women in Health and Safety advocate. And most importantly my biz bestie. Alanna discusses her background story, and how this is actually take two of the podcast, as the first take was an absolute shit show. Alanna talks about her journey of building her business and being a mum to three children. She talks about the ups, the downs, the laughs, and the tears of her journey, and how she has managed to create a successful business and be a mum. Alanna also gives advice to other mums who are in the process of building their own empires, and being reminded that they are not alone in this journey.
Alanna goes on to explain that she is a woman inspired to make change in the world and that health and safety is her passion. She aims to serve her community authentically and make an impact in her industry. The conversation between us revolves around the idea of self-identity, and how we often feel the need to conform to what society expects of us.
Leah and Alanna have a conversation about how they both felt trapped by their identities, Leah as a travel agent and a mom, and Alanna as a stay-at-home mom. They both discussed the importance of recognising that there is more to life than being a mom and having a job, and that we should all strive to find ourselves outside of these titles.
