Hi 👋🏽 ! My name is Jess. I'm a Mental Health Coach and Therapist Matchmaker. In this week's episode of ✨ Journey With Jess ✨ I'm chatting with my sorority sister and good friend, Tarikah Santiago.
In this episode we discuss ADHD and the daily challenges it poses, how she masked her symptoms from an early age, her hospitalization at the age of 22, and why getting a second opinion and switching doctors is not as easy to do as one may think.
We also touch upon Tarikah’s dyslexia, how her religious background impacted her mental health journey, why people of color tend to not speak up regarding mental health as much as they should, and why one shouldn’t completely disregard mental health information you stumble across when scrolling through TikTok.
*** Since the recording of this episode Tarikah got her official ADHD diagnosis and is now on medication 🎉 Stay tuned for a follow up episode with Tarikah in the near future!
