Hi Bloom Squad ~ This month in the bloomiverse we were joined by a seriously lovely guest, Kris Kneen. Kris (they/them) is a non-binary author residing in Australia. Kris most recently released the book titled "Fat Girl Dancing", a memoir written over many years, which really digs into the question, why do we make it so difficult for fat people to live in this world? Kris invites us to reconsider over and over again our perceptions of bodies in this world, particularly feminized and gender non-conforming bodies, and how beauty standards deeply trouble our perspective. In our chat with Kris we get into all of this, asking Kris to share with us their lifetime of learning about fatness, queerness, gender-identity and self-expression.
