Jeremiah 23:1–20, although Jeremiah‘s message was primarily negative, we see in the first part of this reading a very positive message, a message about the righteous branch which will spring from the family tree of David, and a new and more wonderful exodus! Matthew 23:14–30, the parable of the talents, which beautifully pictures our basic obligations before the Lord.
