Have you ever looked at someone and thought:
"They've got it all together, why can't I be like that?" Or,
"Why can't I be as confident as them?" Or,
"They don't have a care in the world, I wish I was like that!"
If you have, you're NOT alone! It is a natural thing for us to compare ourselves to others, and that's okay! However, comparing ourselves to others can create a downward spiral of non-serving thoughts that become beliefs deeply seated within us, preventing us from achieving what we want - this is the detriment of social comparison. Nonetheless, there is a way to overcome this detriment, flip the script, and give ourselves permission to be human in way that allows for our social comparison to inspire and drive us.
