The Last Bear takes us on a journey to the Arctic, unravelling a story of friendship, bravery and the importance of protecting our planet. The story revolves around a girl named April Wood who finds herself on a remote Arctic outpost called Bear Island. Despite being told that there are no polar bears left on the island, on one summer night, April encounters a lonely and hungry polar bear who is long way from home. April, who is kind-hearted and brave, decides to help the bear. The story highlights the problems we face because of climate change and rallies everyone to try to do something about it.
