Description

After trauma, we may have a difficult time being vulnerable. Often because we are constantly assessing threats to our emotional safety. This causes us to be hypersensitive and hypervigilant to "prevent" or "control" our situations. In doing so, we may not be transparent or vulnerable. The tendency is to use these defenses to protect or prevent us from being vulnerable. As we grow, we will find there are levels to our openness, transparency and vulnerability. We can not protect our scars and our wounds and be vulnerable at the same time. With safe people, you can be vulnerable.
