Have you ever read the Bible? For many men, reading the Bible is a challenge. With all of the pressures and outside commitments of being a dad, it's easy to feel like we don't have time to read, let alone read the Bible. And there’s a lot of misconceptions about the Bible—what it is, what it isn’t, its overarching structure and message, so a lot of guys are intimidated by the book.
However, many men realize it’s something they should do, so when they do try to make time to read the Bible, they attempt to read it cover-to-cover. That's just too big of a goal when you're just starting.
As dads and spiritual leaders of the home, it’s critical that we understand God’s Word so we can apply it to our daily lives and effectively teach our kids about it. But we obviously can’t do that if we’re not reading and studying it regularly.
My guest today is on a mission to help all of us bridge that gap. His name is Matt Whitman. Matt is a pastor at Free Church in Lander, WY as well as the creator of the YouTube channel The Ten Minute Bible Hour.
