Over the past few years, I have had the pleasure of meeting Greg
Williams and Rowe Advisory working with him at Evero. Here is Gregs and Evero's story.
Let’s get going Australia with Waste to Energy.
Greg Williams joined BP as a procurement graduate buying toilet rolls and ice cream; ended contracting the drilling rigs for the Rumaila field in Iraq.
Greg’s career is worth of all Procurement professionals to learn…Procurement can take you down many paths, however, we need to be open to the opportunities…Board roles, own business, different industries, locations, the skills are transferable.
And Greg has done this at Evero a Waste to Energy company in the United Kingdom.
Greg Williams is now the Head of External Affairs
and Procurement at Evero. He is leading for the company on its engagement with opinion formers, government and the supply chain on the company’s decarbonization plans. Greg also convenes the Carbon Capture and Storage Association’s task subgroup on Greenhouse Gas Removals, which comprises a
variety of GGR technologies and applications.
Evero’s foundations are in converting waste into energy. Our
waste-to-electricity, UK-based plants (see our locations
here) have a total capacity of 145MW. We divert around 1 million
tonnes of waste from landfill every year and use it to generate energy. Half of the plants use gasification, a notoriously complex technology.
Decarbonization of the waste industry and the economy in general is fundamental to Evero, just as it was to Bioenergy Infrastructure Group.
