Description

Series: Lukan Parables: The Pharisee and the Tax Collector
Scripture: Luke 18:9-14
Speaker: Pastor David Hallett

This is our last of our series on Luke’s parables with the “Parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector”. Jesus has just been talking to the Pharisees and his disciples about the Kingdom of God. He encourages his disciples to faithful prayer knowing that God will hear and answer them.

Now he turns his attention to a different kind of prayer. The prayer of those who want to be made right with God. Two prayers are contrasted. One from a self-righteous person who thinks he’s doing great. The other from a hated sinner who throws himself on God’s mercy. Only one is heard and forgiven. Which will it be?
