In this week's episode of the 10forty podcast, we headed to
the podcast studio to catch up with Claire as she reflects on her 23 years in the Defence Forces, taking a sabbatical to travel and everything in between.
Opting for military service over completing college, Claire
embarked on international assignments to Kosovo, Liberia, Syria, and Lebanon, and successfully trained six recruit platoons. Embracing every opportunity, she pursued diverse army courses, ranging from signals and sailing to a physical instructor's program. Not only did Claire become a swim coach. She also secured two QQI level 7 qualifications: one in military medical care and the other in military leadership
Now forging a new path, Claire is training with the HSE to
be a paramedic, with aspirations to certify in the near future.
