We were deeply touched to be in conversation with Nikki Darling, a fullhearted human who shares her grief story with an openness that invites you in. After Nikki’s husband died, while she was in heartbreak, she also experienced secondary losses in all the dailiness of being a solo parent and navigating seemingly endless paperwork between states and countries. Nikki is forever changed by her grief that has led her to feel more connected to other people, the universe, her body, her soul.
Nikki Darling is a seeker, but people and possibilities usually find her first. She makes friends while waiting in line at the grocery store, but also doesn’t take kindly to being told she should smile more. She spends her work time trying to dissuade teenagers from outsourcing their voice and creativity to Chat GPT. She spends her life hours in a near constant state of awe over her three adult daughters and her teenaged son. She lives in São Paulo Brazil and becomes more Brazilian by the day.
