Advent is a time of anticipating Christ’s arrival and his return in glory. This Advent series draws from the rich history and lyrics of the hymn “O Come, O Come Emmanuel.” Each Sunday we will sing this hymn, adding a new verse each week. We will explore how it is connected to Christ’s coming in both the Old Testament and the New Testament. We begin by talking about captive Israel’s lonely exile. Associated Scriptures: Isaiah 7:14 and Matthew 1:20-23.
