Description

Jennifer Payne’s book, “I’m Single Not Sorry,” tells the story of a successful businesswoman in her 40’s, Ava Amore, who decides to look for love.

On today’s episode we get to hear what inspired Jennifer to write this story, and some of the things she’s learned in single life.

Our society can pressure women to create a certain life, but more and more women are going against the default narrative and forging their own path. We’re all different: single, married, widowed, divorced, partnered, or other. There’s no right or wrong life story, and today we talk about the pluses and minuses of the single life.

Many of us can relate to the ups, downs and mishaps of the dating life, and Jennifer’s dating history didn’t always go as plan. When she hit 40, she had some friends and family prying and pressuring as they do, and that’s when this book was born. Throughout the beginning of the writing process, she experienced a betrayal, and decided to use the experience to further fuel her writing.

It’s so inspiring to hear how she’s turned challenges into opportunities, and heartwarming to learn things are going well for her right now. You can hear the wisdom she carries about loving ourselves, living full lives, knowing what to look for in relationships, and moving forward after disappointments.

We also chat about how social media can be a blessing or a curse, and how to know when it’s time to take a break from it.

And, she shares insights about her descriptive writing style, what her current boyfriend thinks about the book, and some of the people in her life who inspired certain pages and characters.

Jennifer’s lively, creative book also includes QR codes to playlists and recipes, so make sure you check it out!
