Tonight is Poppy’s first attendance at The Rite, an annual celebration held in the Kingdom of Solis. Before now, she wasn’t allowed to attend because she’s the Maiden. She’s currently 18 and once she’s 19, another Rite would be held where she would be the central event.
Poppy refuses to think about any of that. She pretends she’s a regular teenager enjoying an evening out. But things are about to take a drastic turn.
