John 6:1-21

Question: How does Jesus related to those who follow Him?

Jesus cares and acts to meet their needs.

1. For casual and committed followers. (2, 16-21)
2. For spiritual and physical needs. (5, 18-19; Mark 6:34)

Jesus provides generously.

1. At the cost of His own comfort. (Matthew 14:13; Mark 6:31)
2. Beyond what is required. (11-12, 21)

Jesus stretches people and involves us in His work.

1. Jesus stretches our thinking and faith. (5-9; see also Luke 9:12-13)
2. Jesus involves us in His work. (5-13)

Jesus cannot be hijacked to our agenda.

1. While Jesus cares and meets our needs, His own purposes and plans remain firm. (14-15)
2. Note: In trying to force Jesus to fulfill our agenda we can lose what we want, need and what He offers. (14-15)
