Description

We welcome Rep. April Connors from the 8th district to tell us about her experience during her first legislative session. We touch on the amendment process, partisanship in the legislature, what the minority party can do to stop bad legislation, and whether it matters if citizens tell the legislature what they think. We highlight and include clips from April's work to salvage the popular farm internship bill after a blatantly discriminatory amendment is passed by House Democrats. All of these topics are addressed to highlight the important fact that no, the GOP can't exert their will and get what they want just by "fighting" harder. Follow April on Facebook at April for Washington.
