What was true and authentic to our 11 year old self is not necessarily the same when we turn 30, nor even when we turn 40, or in Rob’s case, 60. But as the years pass, and perhaps through wisdom from aging, he is getting closer to the truth, and as a result becoming his authentic self. Most who suffer trauma understand this very well, let alone have lived it.
