This summer, I spent a week volunteering at summer camp.
Adams Camp is a local nonprofit that uses unique therapy and adventure programs who help special needs children, youth and adults reach for the stars.
My group this summer was the oldest campers that week, 27+. The cool thing about Adams Camp is that there is no cap on age with attending their programs. My oldest camper was 42!
I took so much away from my time at camp this summer, the lessons that I am still learning over 3 months later are abundant.
This experiences was beautiful in every way and also extremely challenging in every way. In this episode, I share both sides. The challenges and the joy.
I have always loved volunteering my time and I am happy I chose to participate in this experience. I met amazing humans along the way, heard stories about life that would stop you in your tracks, and understood a population of people deeper than I had before.
This organization has a special place in my heart now and the people who are in my life because of it!
I love you,
ABSD 🫶
