In this episode of the Listen To Your Footsteps podcast, I chat to Rémy “rémythequill” Ngamije, a Rwandan-born Namibian writer and photographer. He is the founder, chairperson, and artministrator of Doek, an independent arts organisation in Namibia supporting the literary arts. He is also the co-founder and editor-in-chief of Doek! Literary Magazine, Namibia’s first and only literary magazine.
Beyond his debut novel The Eternal Audience of One, he was written for various publications including The Johannesburg Review of Books, American Chordata. and Lolwe, and many other publications.
We talk the rhythm and energy of cities, Black expression, identity and connection to roots and heritage, how he came to writing and the craft of it, living as a ‘working writer’ and so much more.
