Do you know how important touch is to humans?!? Without touch one can experience touch starvation or deprivation.
A person may become touch starved when they do not receive consistent physical or emotional interaction from others. They may crave hugs, cuddles, or even a simple smile from a stranger. When there is a significant decrease in human interaction, someone might begin to feel isolated or experience symptoms of depression.

Make defending your mental health part of your health care routine, and don’t wait until you are in a crisis to get help. Reaching out is a sign of strength not a sign of weakness. Language is a powerful tool in the battle against mental health stigma. The words we choose when describing mental disorders have a real impact on individuals struggling with these conditions.
