In this episode, I chat with Anthony Paul De Ritis. Mr. De Ritis is an American composer celebrated for blending classical, electronic, and popular music influences. Described by Gramophone as a “genuinely American composer” and by The Wall Street Journal as “an eclectic whose works draw on popular and electronic music,” his compositions have been performed worldwide — from Carnegie Hall to UNESCO headquarters in Paris. His acclaimed recordings with the Boston Modern Orchestra Project, including Devolution and Pop Concerto, highlight his innovative fusion of symphonic and digital sound worlds. Currently a professor and co-founder of the music technology program at Northeastern University, Mr. De Ritis continues to expand the boundaries of contemporary orchestral music through cross-cultural and multimedia collaborations.
