Learning how to build your own entrepreneur lifestyle, regardless of the type of business you want to create, can help you gain clarity towards your goal. In this interview, Matt Thompson, entrepreneur lifestyle architect, shares his origin story of entrepreneurship and teaches how to construct the life of your dreams.
Born in Bellville, but raised north of that on his grandparent's farm, Matt noticed from an early age that the two sides of his family were very opposing. His dad's side was very aggressive, where the only emotion you could show was anger. On his mom's side, it was the "most lovey dovey group of people" he had ever seen.
This stark contrast led to Matt becoming a very quiet and observant child who noticed everything that was going on. Even in high school, because of the way things were with his dad, Matt mostly hung around with girls because he was better mentally equipped to handle them.
That didn't work out too well for him later on, however, as he got engaged at 18 years old to an abusive woman who was of similar mindset to his father. It took Matt about two years to realize that this wasn't the right path for him, and at this point fell into crippling depression. It got so bad that he couldn't even get out of his bed to go to work.
The final straw came when his wife took everything Matt owned, including the money in his bank account and all of his physical possessions in his home, and so he left. At this point, he was homeless - living in his car and bouncing around various crackhouses to survive.
At its worst, Matt was forced to eat out of the trashcan twice, and had truly hit rock bottom. It was at this time that he decided to move back in with his parents and rebuild his life. He helped them rebuild their house and his life at the same time.
He started searching for mentors and places to go to help him find answers to the questions he had been having. It was at this point that he found a company named Landmark, a high performing self development company.
After three years of taking their courses, and eventually teaching many of their courses, he racked up about 900 hours of coaching helping people get what they wanted out of life. Armed with a new skillset and vastly improved mindset, he began his own journey as an entrepreneur lifestyle architect.
By focusing on acts of service and helping others, we can all achieve our dreams through whichever vehicle we decide to pursue them through. You can learn more about turning your dreams into reality by watching more interviews at http://projectegg.co/ !
