I interviewed Shana Francesca. Shana is a writer, entrepreneur, Keynote Speaker, and professional life designer. Shana was born into a difficult and abusive family life and was raised inside an alt-right evangelical Christian cult and refused to allow that to define her. Shana states that she found mentors through books and used the walls of her bedroom as makeshift vision boards. She used her bedroom as a safe space to explore what was possible. Shana's love for design lead her to get her degree, a BS in interior design where she built her career for 17 years. It was there that she realize that design applies to every aspect of our lives and use the wisdom and knowledge she has gained through not only designing her life but empowering her clients to do the same, in a larger way. She now spends most of her time using her voice to guide people toward their own empathy, resilience, and curiosity toward what is possible in their own lives.
Fifteen years into my career she became the Founder and CEO of Concinnate. Shana states that working as a designer she noticed that design was about intention, about realizing the power of our own voice in our own lives. It’s about the realization that our lives are a series of choices and each one has a ripple effect on every other aspect of our lives and everyone else's life. She goes on to say, the space we open our eyes to every morning, the body wash we use in the shower, the first thing we drink or eat each day, the clothing we put on our body, how we feel in our own skin, what we listen to, watch, see, walk past in our home or office or… it’s all a mirror to our beliefs about ourselves. We design our lives with the hundreds of small decisions we make every day.
Shana believes that her purpose is to empower people to live more intentional, connected, and authentic lives-to design our lives and by doing so, experience untold depths of Joy. She helps people live more joyful and connected lives through the principles Of life design. She believes our present and future are transformed when we infuse our lives with intention, we design our lives and realize the power of accepting ourselves as the author of our story.
