My interview with Sheri Briggs. Is a wife and mother of six children; two of who are children in heaven. One died prematurely at birth and her son Nathan died seven years ago in a free-diving accident in Mexico at the age of 26 years old. She is also an author, and grief and trauma coach. Her first book came out on November 8, 2022. It is called, " Relentless Pursuit; God's Gentle Guidance Amidst The Storm" The book as Sheri tells it paints a compelling picture of God's redemptive power. How he took what was evil in her life, including a cult upbringing, being born into an alcoholic home, a brutal car accident, and the loss of her son, and showed her that He is the perfect parent of His children, and gives a deep experience of His love in the midst of suffering.
Sheri started a non-profit organization in 2005, called Bridge of Hope San Diego. The vision for Bridge of Hope came from her experience as a single mother with her son Nathan. God took care of her and her son and provided all they needed, as she stepped out and trusted God.
Sheri states that the mission is to strengthen families in transition. Transition can mean many things; families leaving homelessness, domestic violence, recovery, refugees, immigrants, families facing a crisis, disabled, etc. Sheri's goal and hope are to inspire others and the next generation, to step out in faith where God calls them, and to trust God for the resources as He leads them to love and care for others. We have followed the example of George Mueller, the Father of Orphans, and chosen not to fundraise, but to trust God, that where He guides, He provides. Our organization has grown over the last 17 years and is providing food for about 1500 families per month, approximately 500 families visit our clothing closet each month, as well as 40 families, receive the furniture and all household items each month. We work with over 70 agencies throughout San Diego County. We also have art, science, and tutoring programs for the local children in our community.
