During a speech celebrating the 42nd anniversary of Iran's 1979 revolution, President Hassan Rouhani urged the US to restore the 2015 nuclear deal, urging an end to sanctions and pushing diplomacy as the only way forward. This is Rouhani's last such speech before June's elections, when Iran elects its next president. Meanwhile, Iran's intelligence minister, Mahmoud Alavi, warns that Iran will proceed with making a nuclear weapon if sanctions remain in place — and the IAEA has now confirmed that Iran is indeed begun the production of uranium metal.
