Description

  • "A powerful conversation about courage, culture, and change."
  • This is an interview with Social Activist and Nobel Peace Prize nominee Jaha Dukureh who recently published her book detailing her life and how it was impacted by being a victim of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) in her first month of life. Jaha was unaware of what had happened to her until she was married off at 15 and her 'husband' was unable to consummate their 'marriage'. She narrates the events of how she ended up in New York without support and how the birth of her daughter triggered her to become an activist against FGM and child marriage. She has been recognized by the United Nations, Time Magazine and L'Oreal just to mention a few. She has also been the subject of a documentary by the Guardian and many other stand out achievements. Jaha's story is an important one you will not want to miss. I look forward to you comments.
