This is episode 7 of Beyond Top 10 Tennis dives head first into the notion of expectations and how too often this is lopsided and that adults "expect" certain behaviours from a "child" (to simplify), however when we look at the sporting environment, the "player/athlete" is entitled to have set expectations for the "coach" and too often this is not the case. Listen in close to consider if you've set the bar high enough as a player or if you have at all! For the coaches out there, is this a mutually conducive partnership whereby both have shared set expectations? And for the parent, have you talked with your child about these expectations and have they voiced their own, to you? If not, how can you nudge the dial to encourage them to have these discussions? If yes, what has the end result been? Questions to ponder as you tune in!
