Welcome to Episode 36 - Meet Christina G. Christina is a 34-year-old woman who is a recovering heroin and meth addict. By 15 she was hooked on Adderall and eventually meth. By 19 she was strung out on the needle and doing meth and heroin together.

In 2010 Christina's parents sent her to a behavior modification rehab program in Oahu, she lasted 3 months at this facility due to the trauma she experienced while there, at this point she felt her only option was to leave. She was then stuck homeless in Hawaii for the next 10 years.
She suffered in her addiction for nearly 16 years, in and out of rehab and ending up on life support as a result of a life-threatening infection caused by IV use.
Christina has been clean now since August 19, 2021. She has been tapering down on her methadone treatment from 172 mg to 19 mg. Christina is now a SUD counselor working at a rehab center, working her steps and helping other women find hope in recovery.
Her story is raw and it takes so much courage to share. I am proud of Christina for her sobriety and her resilience. Most important is to hear the love and pride she has found in herself.
