In this episode, I talk about BERSERKER (1987) on Blu-ray from Vinegar Syndrome. This horror film is written and directed by Jefferson Richard. According to an old Nordic legend, a Berserker was a blood thirsty warrior who was kept in chains and used as the first line of assault in Viking raids. Berserkers wore bear skin robes and bear snout masks. Because they ate human flesh, they were cursed, unable to have a restful death, and fated to be reincarnated in their descendants. Six college students stumble across the Berserker legend when they vacation at a campground called Rainbow Valley, a place that was settled by Norwegian immigrants. On the way to the campsite, the youngsters are warned about killings in the area, supposedly the result of a wild bear. But is it a bear or a berserker somehow transported to the twentieth century?
